Liquid glass in After Effects🫧

ChatGPT built this whole effect inside After Effects for me. Here’s the project, and how to put it on your own text.

5 short steps  /  Free, no signup

01Download the project
02Install the free plugin

Install it, then restart After Effects.

03Open the project

Double-click Artzen Media - Liquid Glass.aep. In the Project panel, double-click 01 - START HERE and press Space to play it. Click any layer and press U to see how it moves.

04Put it on your own text
  1. Select your text layer.
  2. Go to Animation › Apply Animation Preset.
  3. Pick Artzen - Liquid Glass.ffx from the Presets folder.
  4. In Effect Controls, set Source Layer to your video.

Your text needs to sit above your video. If the glass looks empty, Source Layer isn’t set yet.

05Make your own with Higgsfield

In ChatGPT, add the Higgsfield plugin and type @Higgsfield /use-after-effects. Attach a picture of the look you want, then send this:

Recreate the liquid glass look from the image I've attached on the selected text layer in my open After Effects project. Do not start a new project. The letters work like thick curved glass: the video behind them bends and magnifies through each letter, a thin bright rim runs along every edge, and the text stays easy to read. Leave the video outside the letters untouched. Save the look as an animation preset I can drag onto any layer, and name every layer and effect clearly so I can see what you did.

That’s how I learn effects now. Let it build the thing in my project, then take it apart.

Ben Aizen Happy creating. Ben
